Welcome to Performing Arts at Fawn Lake

Performing Arts at Fawn Lake is a FLCA-sanctioned club with membership open to all property owners and residents of Fawn Lake. Our purpose is to add to the cultural richness of life in our community by sourcing and staging top-tier professional musical productions right here in Fawn Lake.

While attendance at PAFL-hosted music events is open to the entire Fawn Lake community, annual membership in our club brings benefits such as ticketing preference for PAFL-hosted music events, special member ticket discounts, and invitations to meet the artists at social gatherings.

In the first year since our founding in July 2022, PAFL has hosted five music events in the Cove at Fawn Lake Country Club, featuring two Broadway (and London’s West End) stars, a Grammy Award-winning cellist, two internationally acclaimed pianists, and an internationally acclaimed violinist. Check out our Past Performances here.

There is plenty more in store for PAFL members in the months and years ahead. We welcome you to come join in the fun with Performing Arts at Fawn Lake!

Origins of Performing Arts at Fawn Lake

Live Music Lovers, United

Performing Arts at Fawn Lake began in February 2022 as an informal steering committee of fourteen Fawn Lake residents who love ‘live’ music performance in many of its expressions – symphonic, opera, chamber, jazz, solo – with the aim of bringing nationally and internationally known musicians here to perform inside our community. Springing from this shared vision, in its first year PAFL has now grown to become the largest community-wide club in Fawn Lake based on membership.

Mission

World-class Music Performance at Fawn Lake

Our mission is to plan and stage live performances by nationally and internationally acclaimed professional musicians right here in Fawn Lake. We bring a variety of top-tier artists here to perform the kinds of music events you otherwise would have to travel to Washington, D.C., New York City, or other major urban center to attend. Not only do we host amazing artists here, but we try very hard to create the ambience of an off-Broadway theater or intimate recital hall in the spaces available to us within Fawn Lake. From the moment our audience members step into a PAFL-hosted performance, we want everyone to get as much of the whole experience of world-class performance as possible. Keep in mind that Fawn Lake does not have a purpose-built venue for this type of live music, nor one that can accommodate all who want to attend every performance. But we go with what we have, and we are constantly searching for ways in which we can maximize audience participation and enjoyment at these great music events with the space available to us.

Become a Member Today!

Membership is open to all property owners and residents of Fawn Lake with a limited number of memberships open to non-residents. The annual membership fee is $25.

As a member you are eligible for important benefits that are designed to make attendance at Performing Arts at Fawn Lake hosted events easier and more enjoyable. Here are the member benefits for calendar 2024.

YOUR DUES ARE IMPORTANT! Membership fees enable us to keep event ticket prices as low as possible by providing a small reserve to subsidize ticket prices when necessary. The proceeds from 2023 membership fees also enabled us to purchase our own grand piano, saving us from the expense of borrowing, renting, or moving a piano for hosted events.

Inasmuch as Performing Arts at Fawn Lake regards itself as a public service organization serving all of the Fawn Lake community, memberships provide the safety cushion our club needs to continue its mission.

Event Guidelines

We prepare our performance spaces to best resemble the venues where these great artists customarily perform, and we strive to observe the customary etiquette of these places. Here are the guidelines we have established.

Tickets

  • All audience members must check in by showing their tickets for a performance prior to entering the concert space and taking their seats. This helps us prevent people from ‘crashing’ our events, and it helps us track audience attendance so that we can align future performances with audience tastes and preferences.
  • If you have purchased tickets and cannot attend the event, contact events@performingartsatfawnlake.org in advance of the hosted event and we will cancel your tickets and reassign them to the parties you designate up to six hours before curtain time.
  • Tickets purchased for a  hosted music event are fully refundable up to 72 hours prior to curtain time for the event. Exceptions to this policy may be granted by Performing Arts at Fawn Lake in case of medical emergency or similar circumstance, at our sole discretion.

Seating

  • Seating at all hosted music events is open (i.e., there is no regular advance seat selection for ticket holders), and is available on a first-come, first-served basis for all audience members who have been checked in at the door.
  • If a ticket purchaser notifies us in advance that one or more ticket holders in the purchaser’s party has a special need (e.g., mobility, hearing, or vision), we will reserve seats in advance for the entire party. This request also may be made at the time of ticket purchase checkout.

Punctuality

  • Performing Arts at Fawn Lake will always advertise the start time for any hosted music event.
  • The doors will close promptly at the advertised start time, and no one will be admitted to the concert space after the doors are closed. In cases where the event has a scheduled intermission, latecomers will be admitted only during the intermission.
  • Performing Arts at Fawn Lake will not issue refunds for tickets purchased for a hosted event when the ticket holder arrives after the advertised start time.

Electronic Devices, and Audio and Video Recording

  • All electronic devices such as phones and pagers must be silenced or turned off during a hosted performance.
  • Since most, if not all, of the performers we host for concerts are subject to recording and other performance-related contracts, personal audio or video recording of performances is prohibited.
  • Unless stated otherwise in the written program for a hosted event, audience members may take still photos during a performance without flash from their seats. Walking about the concert space to take still photos during a performance is prohibited.

Audience Etiquette

  • Audience members must not engage in any action that would distract the performers or infringe on other audience members’ enjoyment of an event. Examples of distractions include excessive arm or hand waving, extreme head movement, foot tapping, talking, humming, and singing.
  • If you must leave the concert space during a performance for any reason, please do so quietly. You will not be readmitted to the concert unless there is a scheduled intermission, at which time you may return to your seat.

Beverages

Consumption of beverages of any kind is prohibited inside the venue where a Performing Arts at Fawn Lake-hosted music event is held.

Audience Reviews

“I can’t remember when I have had such an enjoyable and memorable evening. The beauty of the music was indescribable. I was reminded of the reviews of Handel’s Messiah when it was first performed in Dublin in 1742. “It was as if God opened the door to heaven and the composer was allowed to look inside.” That was how transformational tonight’s performance was. Rarely in my life have I been witness to such a genius’ talent. The evening completely overwhelmed me.

Jim O'Donnell

“FLPAC rose to the occasion with aplomb.  And that Michelle was also able to put together such a magnificent program on such short notice reinforces what a consummate talent she is.  It was, in short, a stunningly successful and satisfying evening.  As two of the few remaining Founding Members, I am hard pressed to recall many evenings since the Club’s inception that rival Ms Kim’s virtuoso performance.

Bringing programs of this caliber to Fawn Lake is a tribute to you all.  Becky and I will always be in line to sign up for your offerings.  Well Done!”

Jim and Becky Vance

“When I signed up to come to this event, I had no idea what to expect.  However, I was so pleasantly surprised.  Although the expected program didn’t happen as planned, I thought Michelle’s performance was amazing.  I recognized some of the music she played but regardless, everything she played evoked such a feeling of joy, love, passion, and transported me to French cafes, cobblestone sidewalks, and fantastical places.  I really enjoyed it and if she comes back next year, I hope I will make the list to be invited again. Thanks to everyone involved in putting this special event together.”
