Once again, FLPAC is pleased to present acclaimed stars of the Broadway stage to you here in Fawn Lake! Come see Broadway star Gay Willis (who starred as Christine Daae in the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera opposite Colm Wilkinson, as Rapunzel in Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway production of Into the Woods, and over 1,000 performances as Magnolia in Hal Prince’s Broadway production of Showboat, among many others), Prince Havely (who sings with the Washington National Opera Chorus, and whose stage credits include Big River, Miss Saigon, and Phantom of the Opera), and Larry Friedman (former dancer with the Washington Ballet and Bolshoi before starring in his own national TV series Mulligan’s Stew on NBC, regional singing appearances at The Greenbrier, Wolf Trap, The Kennedy Center, Disney World, and more). This is a vocal collaboration you won’t want to miss! FLPAC members-only reservations will be taken starting March 6th on a first-come first-served basis. Soulful expression, instrumental virtuosity, playful banter - these are the hallmarks of an INTERSECTION event, in which the realms of concert and popular music are seamlessly dovetailed. The typical INTERSECTION program is an irresistible blend of classical, jazz, Latin, Broadway/film music, vital new commissions, and the group's own original compositions and arrangements. The quintessential Intersection event is the trio concert, with a varied program of repertoire from all parts of the music world. The The evening's program will cover a broad swath of classical and contemporary music, with solos and duos woven into the variety of pieces they will perform for us. This will be an exceptional music experience for Fawn Lake in the hands of these amazing global celebrities. Kristina Cooper, Laura Frautschi and John Novacek have individually achieved enviable successes as soloists and chamber musicians in the world of classical music, but each have effectively ventured beyond circumscribed artistic borders, exploring new music, world music, jazz and pop. The uniqueness of the group is in tapping to the full these highly varied backgrounds, in shows that seamlessly fuse the traditional and the surprising, the premeditated and the improvisatory, and of course their easy verbal interplay with each other and with the audience. An evening with Intersection is a virtual collaboration between artists and audience.
